Welcome to this week’s “What We Did This Weekend.” In this segment, I showcase a project or recipe that YOU have inspired me to do! Let’s see what you’ve gotten me into this week…
When I saw this Yo-Yo project, I saw a fast, easy tutorial that I had to try! Katie offers this great tutorial over at her website. The pictures and instructions are easy to understand.
I gave the yo-yos a try using items that I already had on hand- a onesie, fabric, scraps, and thread.
So cute!!
Visit her blog for the full tutorial. But here are a couple of my thoughts on the project:
- This is a great beginner project. Use this to build up your sewing confidence!
- Use this to personalize a cute onesie gift for a friend.
- Hide stains on onesies and toddler shirts with these yo-yos.
- No sewing machine needed- all sewing is done by hand.
- Make sure that you use a little interfacing on the inside of the onesies/shirts when attaching the yo-yos. They do have some minor weight to them, so the interfacing will simply serve to reinforce the material.
I love your “What We Did This Weekend” project idea for posting your own creation from others’ inspiration. This is a great idea and this onesie turned out so cute! Thank you so much for linking up your post at Freshmen Friday at HomeSavvyAtoZ!
