Do you remember {this post} on turning Onesies into shirts?? (Because I still haven’t figured out the point of a 24 month onesie). I used my new serger to turn THREE of these bad boys into shirts in 30 minutes!

I cut serged them using a blind hem. A sewing machine will also do a blind hem, but I figured the serged one would hold up better in the washing machine. I also top stitched to keep the hem down. Here is Princess wearing one of her “new” shirts!

I am a fan of onesies. My daughter loves to flip her shirt and show off her big toddler belly…I don’t know what I will do when she outgrows 24 months size π
Great job on those shirts! Onesies usually come in cute designs, and make cute shirts!
Cute! I don’t have a serger, but I’ve just cut off a few of the babe’s onesies that don’t fit and let them roll up at the bottom. We use cloth diapers so he always needs a bigger size because of the extra padding. I actually wish they made onesies bigger than 24 mo!
Oh my this is genius! Thank you so much for sharing at Mix it up Monday! I hope to see you next week too π

Great job! These shirts are really cute. I could never figure out why they made such large onesies either. I’m not a fan of them to begin with, I find them annoying to use with cloth diapers (they never fit right, and they cover up the cuteness!) plus my kids always potty train “early” so they’d get onesies as gifts and I’d just end up giving them away tags and all, I should have done this!
This is a fantastic idea. I am not a fan of the large size onesies either. After about 12 months, they don’t work out so much.
Brilliant upcycle – so simple!!
Thanks for linking to a Round Tuit!
Hope you have a fabulous week!

My 6 month old son is in 24 month clothes, so I’m thankful when I find 24 month onesies… when I can find them. I’ll be sure to pin this post – as some are too cute to not keep wearing although he’s outgrown the length (he’s 2’9″ and 28 lbs – and I have the sore back to prove it!) lol Thank you for your post!
Nice. I’m going to “pin” this. My grandson is a year old now and he has some onesies I could switch over. Love the butterfly. Linda

This is such a great idea! I have tons of onesies that are slightly used that my daughter could wear as a shirt. I would love for you to link it up to my first link party. I know my readers would love it too! http://weliketolearnaswego.blogspot.com/2012/03/what-i-learned-wednesday-1.html
What a wonderful idea to reuse onesies.
Love for you to share it at my Linky Party π –

This is a great idea! Why do they make onsies for 2 year olds anyway? Thanks for sharing at Terrific Tuesdays.
