I can’t believe I will have two in preschool this year. If you read along, then you know I’m sending one of the triplets to preschool here in a few week. I’ve assembled the kids’ classroom boxes, and now I am creating the teachers’ boxes. Each of my kids have two teachers in the classroom. Traditionally, when I make teacher gifts, I make separate ones for each teacher. Today, I’m combining them in one useful crate with supplies for both! I picked up a few supplies at Office Depot, as well as a couple shared classroom products, and assembled an easy teacher crate. I’ve also included a free printable, too! Two teachers, one classroom box!
Supplies:
- Small crate
- Length of ribbon
- Chevron burlap, cut the size of the crate. I also found some at a craft store already pre-cut to about 6″ in width.
- Hole punch
- Back to school teacher printable
- Assorted “shared” classroom supplies- things that are for the classroom overall, like hand sanitizer and tissues
- Small bags for dividing the individual supplies
- Sharpies, Expo Neon Window Markers, and PaperMate Pens
Begin by wrapping the chevron burlap around the crate and cut a length to fit. Overlap the ends. Pull the burlap tight. Using the hole punch, create a hole through both pieces.
Pull the ribbon through the hole and attach the teacher printable.
Tie the ribbon closed. I didn’t have an issue keeping the burlap around the crate, but if yours is too loose, add a few glue dots around the bottom.
Divide the pens and markers into the individual bags. Feel free to personalize the bags, as desired.
Add the individual bags to the crate. It’s ready for delivery!
I purchased the Sharpies, Expo Neon Window Markers, and PaperMate Pens at Office Depot with their current Back to School Savings. Currently, Office Depot and Office Max are offering $5 off of a $20 purchase of the above products, including Uni-Ball and Mr. Sketch. In addition, from August 24-30, get select PaperMate Flair 4pk’s for $4, Sharpie 12CT Asst Fine & Ultra Fine Asst for $6, and Sharpie Dozen Box Black Fine & Ultra Fine for $6.
Cute idea!!
Totally love this way to organize and of course, I LOVE SHARPIE markers.
Great idea! N’s class has two teachers…I will have to pin this for Christmas!
This is such a great idea! Our 5th & 6th grade building puts students in “teams” where 120 students rotate among 4 teachers (science, math, language arts, and social studies). What a great way to make each of them a “back to school” gift!
I love it, Melanie!
