Here ya go- Just what you’ve been waiting on the edge of your seat for- another 99 cent Simplicity pattern post! For this dress, I used Simplicity Pattern 2320. And yes, I made a white dress for a toddler. I have no idea what I was thinking.
However, this one has been HEAVILY altered. The pattern size was for a 4-6 year old, but I sized it down to a 2 1/2-3 year old size. I originally intended for this to be her Easter dress, but when I saw the one in {this post}, I changed my mind.
Here are a few more things that I added that the pattern did not call for:
- The ruffle around the top insert
- The sash
- I did add a liner and netting underneath to make the dress “poof” out a little more.
BTW- Can you tell I’ve gotten a new camera? I’m working on playing around with some camera angles…

So cute! I love it – and the new camera seems to be working great!
You did a beautiful job! I stitched white garments for both my daughter and son until they were too old to wear my creations… love babies, toddlers, and children dressed in white!
gorgeous!
Wow wonderful job! You are a talented seamstress- love how the dress turned out.
Saw this at DIY Mom. Immediately loved the sleeves, but upon clicking the link and seeing the pictures… I love the whole thing! Especially your touches: the ruffle, sash and “poof” 🙂 Curious: what type of fabric did you use? I am wondering what will make a sleeve poof up so well??
I love the alterations you made to the pattern!! The dress is amazing!
Thanks so much for sharing at The DIY Dreamer.. From Dream To Reality!
It is very pretty! I am sure your little one loves it. White is so pretty on little girls- too bad most of them are so messy!
Cute! I like the ruffle you added on the top.
This dress is really pretty! You did a great job. Thanks for sharing at Terrific Tuesdays.

Gorgeous little dress!! The ruffle you added looks great!
This is darling!! The white cracked me up!!! I’m working on a dress made of old tees for my daughter and they are all white. I keep thinking “who makes a white playdress for a 5 year old?” I’m back and forth between dying it and just keeping stocked up on bleach!!
This dress is really cute!
