Veteran’s Day is this weekend. Make a small sign to remember our veterans or to give as a gift. This post contains affiliate links. Clicking through these to purchase will cost no extra to you but will help support this site and Cricut tutorials.
Veteran’s Day is more than a day out of school or another grilling opportunity. It’s a day to show appreciation to our veterans. My daughter’s school always does a great job at hosting a program and time of refreshment for local veterans. The kids work hard on the program and show true love to all those who come.
I made this quick Thankful for Our Veterans decor sign to place on our display table this week. It could also be included in a “Thank You” gift to a veteran.
Thankful for Our Veterans Decor Sign Supplies
(I already had all of these items around the house. I also save vinyl scraps from other projects for smaller projects like this one.):
- Small wood piece, approximately 3.5″ by 6″
- Small piece of sand paper
- Paint- I’m using Deco Art Americana Decor Chalky Finish Paint
- Paintbrush
- Cricut Explore Air 2 or Cricut Maker
- Cricut Standard Grip Cutting Mat
- Cricut vinyl (black)
- Cricut Adhesive Foil
- Cricut Glitter Vinyl
- Cricut Tools Basic Set (for weeder and tweezers)
Paint the small piece of wood and let it dry completely. Since I started with scrap wood, the piece already had a grey coat of paint on it. I painted over this. Continue with the number of coats to completely cover the wood, letting each dry thoroughly.
Use the sand paper to sand the edges a bit.
