I may or may not be currently counting down the days to spring break. And I’m not the only one. My daughter has a paper calendar in her room where she is marking through the days until spring break. Unlike my boys, who do not even realize it’s spring break until the morning that I’m not waking them up from school, my daughter makes elaborate plans for our week together. One of her favorite things to do is cook, especially fun treats like these S’mores Waffles.
S’mores Waffles are a delicious way to celebrate the classic taste of a summer favorite without the use of an outdoor bonfire. And cooking together is a fun way to spend much needed mother-daughter time together. With the busy schedule of the school year, it can be difficult to carve out time for one-on-one time. Cooking gets our creative juices flowing and allows us special time together. Weekends and spring break are perfect times for this!
S’mores Waffles Ingredients:
- Chocolately Chip Eggo
- Reddi-Wip Original
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Small marshmallows
- Optional: Chocolate syrup
Follow the directions on the Eggo package to heat the Eggo waffle.
Place the Eggo waffle on a microwave-safe plate.
Sprinkle semi-sweet chocolate chips over Eggo.
Place in the microwave for 20 seconds.
Using a spoon, spread the chocolate chips over the Eggo waffle.
Pre-heat the broiler on the oven.
Place the Eggo waffle on a aluminum foil lined baking sheet.
Sprinkle small marshmallows over the Eggo.
Place under the broiler until the marshmallows are turning brown on top.
Remove from oven.
Optional: Drizzle chocolate syrup over the S’mores Waffle.
Add a dollop of Reddi-Wip to the top of the Eggo.
Serve.
That is like a sweet tweet we might make for a dessert or a snack. Not sure this would work to send them off the school but on a friday night or saturday night idea to make.
