I love using my slow cooker. In the summer, I prefer grilling or slow cooking over using the oven. Our schedules are more flexible during the summer, and utilizing my slow cooker allows us to have dinner when ever we choose. If we are outdoors playing ball or taking a walk around the neighborhood, we can come in to a house full of good smells and ready-to-eat food. This Slow Cooker Chicken is an easy recipe that the entire family enjoys. It pairs well with any side dish or a quick salad.

I’ve found that to clean my slow cooker, I shouldn’t wait too long to clean it after the food has finished cooking. I transfer the chicken to a serving dish, and as soon as the slow cooker is cool enough to touch, I transfer it to the sink to wash. I then use warm water, dish soap, and a Scotch-Brite® Scrubbing Dish Cloth to clean up food reside. Growing up, my mom always used dish cloths, and so they have always been my favorite dish cleaning tool. The Scotch-Brite® Scrubbing Dish Cloth has scrubbing dots on the one side of the dish cloth yet it does not scratch any surface. I also like that it is washable and reusable. It’s a Dish Cloth. Reinvented.

This slow cooker chicken pairs great with Roasted Potatoes. On cooler days when I decide to turn on the oven, these Roasted Potatoes are an easy side dish. Here’s the recipe for that, too!
- Small potatoes, quartered
- Olive oil
- Sea Salt or Pink Himalayan Sea Salt
- Ground pepper
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
In a large bowl, combine the small potatoes with enough olive oil to just cover the potatoes. Sprinkle with sea salt and ground pepper to taste. Combine thoroughly.
Place aluminum foil on a baking sheet. Spread potatoes on the sheet. Bake for 20 minutes or until potatoes are easily pierced with a fork.
