This summer, I’m embarking on an adventure that I’m dreading: potty-training the triplets. They seem to be partially ready (I guess?), but in reality they can’t move up to the next preschool class until they are potty trained. So here I go.
I’ve read a lot of potty training articles from different resources and bloggers. I think I’ve seen about every “potty training” basket idea under the sun. But I’m dealing with THREE peeing boys here. Ain’t no basket gonna help that. One particular boy is terrified of the big potty. He hates the flushing sound. I have a few little training potties, but the with three boys the chances that they are all going to need to go at the same time at least a few times down the road is highly likely. I want them all to get used to the big potty, and I set out this week to make it a little less scary (hopefully?) with this Removable Potty Face.
I used my Silhouette machine to cut out the face. If you have a Silhouette or Cricut machine, you can quickly use any face shape that you have. I used a gingerbread man face and a mustache cut file.
Of course, you could also free hand a face by making a few circles for the eyes and nose and mouth shape. Just make sure that you are using removable vinyl, not outdoor or permanent!
Once you’ve cut the shapes (rather by hand or a die-cutting machine), simply apply them to the underside of the toilet lid. Since it’s vinyl, you can clean over it until it starts to peel off, and then just remove it completely and either make another or go without. I’m hoping to remove mine soon once the boys are used to using the big potty. The kids think the face is hilarious, but it’s freaking out my husband.
Of course, I’ve also stocked up on conventional potty training items. The boys are still not waking up dry overnight, and I’m hoping that Pull-Ups® Training Pants will get us through this portion of potty training. The Pull-Ups® brand has teamed up with renowned child psychologist and potty training experts to create a method that takes the guesswork out of potty training. The Pull-Ups® Potty Partnership is a whole new way to potty train. We also always have plenty of Cottonelle® FreshCare® Flushable Cleansing Cloths on hand. Thankfully, Sam’s Club sells everything that I need in bulk! Visit your local Sam’s Club® to purchase any two Pull-Ups® Training Pants and/or Cottonelle® FreshCare® Flushable Cleansing Cloths between 5/31/16 – 6/30/16 to receive a $10 Sam’s Club® e-Gift Card.
Good luck! I need to grab some of those flushable wipes this weekend. I potty trained my daughter fairly smoothly a couple weeks ago but three boys is a whole ‘nother beast 😉
This is so cute! My daughter is 7 but she would still get a kick out of this one! (Good luck with the potty training!)
That is such a cute idea! Good luck with training the triplets; I will be praying for you 🙂
Didn’t the kids always turn around to look at the face? I’m just pondering!
Mine didn’t, but they are triplet boys, so they only had to sit down to do #2. Haha! That may be a problem with girls, though.
