I’ve been making sweet potato chips for over a year now. I started making them when my husband and I went on a diet last year. We both really like potato chips, but potato chips do not like us. Particularly me. They leach their jagged little potato chip edges right into my thighs. And then they never leave. So when we started monitoring our food last year, I started making sweet potato chips as an alternative. We would eat them with grilled chicken or other meats as a crunchy side. We actually started to prefer them to regular potato chips. But, like anything that we eat too often, we grew tired of sweet potato chips. I went on a venture to flavor them a bit. One of the easiest ways to flavor them is with Hidden Valley Ranch packets. The recipe for Ranch Sweet Potato Chips is very simple!
Ingredients:
- Four Large Sweet Potatoes
- 1 Hidden Valley Ranch packet of your choice
- Olive Oil
Preheat the oven to 400. Cut the sweet potatoes into thin chips. Place them in a large bowl.
Pour 2 tablespoons of olive oil over the potatoes. Make sure all the potatoes are covered. If they are not, add olive oil until they are covered.
Add the ranch packet to the potatoes and mix thoroughly.
Spray a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray. Spread the potatoes on the baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 15 minutes or until they are crispy.
These make a great side to sandwiches!
