Quick and Easy Burger Bar for Outdoor Summer Cookouts

We hosted our first cookout of the summer two weekends ago. We straightened up the porch and cleaned off the grill. Since it has already been 90 degrees here, water activities were perfect to keep the kids occupied. Adults could focus on other stuff like…food! The men gathered around the grill and made sure the hamburgers and chicken kabobs were made to order. The ladies chatted and placed out the veggies and condiments that I picked up on a recent Publix run.

The hot, humid, and muggy temperatures here have meant that the bugs are already out in full force. Bugs are one of the most frustrating things about outdoor food events. Gnats and flies are annoying invaders! Since we host several cookouts every year, I’ve had to perfect my outdoor food hosting tips and tricks. For hamburgers, this Quick and Easy Burger Bar is always a hit!

A DIY Burger Bar can be as large or as small as you want to make it, depending on how large your gathering is. For most of our cookouts, we like intimate get-togethers. Covered plates are an essential for outdoor cookouts. I can assemble the make-your-own burger bar ahead of time, cover it, and keep it in the refrigerator until time to host. The cover then serves as a great tool to keep bugs out of the food.

They come two pouch sizes. The 4.8 ounce size is great for snacking while the 11.8 size is ideal for cookouts and sharing. The Mt. Olive brand has been around since 1926, yet they still have the same classic taste even in this innovative new packaging.
