I’m happy to be participating in Emily’s Summer Fun Series today! School is starting back soon, but there may still be a few moments of “Mom, I’m bored!” left before the school bell rings. I’ve been obsessed with paper plate crafts this summer. It’s because they are quick, easy, cheap, and I already have most of the products in my craft stash. And if the kids mess it up, hey, it’s a plate- who cares? This Paper Plate Bird is a modification of my Creation Day craft that I shared earlier this summer.
Supplies:
- Uncoated paper plate
- Paint
- Paint brush
- Scissors
- Craft feathers
- Glue stick
- Wiggle eye
- Orange triangle for beak
Cut the paper plate in half. Paint it and let it dry completely.
Add the feathers and other features to create the bird.
And that’s it! Make a bird of every color. Glue on a popsicle stick to create a little bird puppet. Let the kids grab a stick and other items and make the bird a little nest. Do whatever you want! Enjoy the rest of your summer!
