I’m excited to be partnering with them to talk about family moments, road trips, and the melodies behind it all. #ShareTheLyrics #CollectiveBias
Remember the road trips? Those times before kids and careers and busyness? Though the road trips were more local, Jason and I used to get outdoors and explore our state on fun adventures. Several of our most reminiscent stories revolve around spontaneous road trips and the unique things that we would find. Of course, now our lives are full of the adventures of parenthood, and we are excited to share a few of our road trip finds with the kids one day. I am all about keepsakes, and I thought that it would be fun to create a framed piece where we could mark all of the states that our road trips take us. I sat down last week and drew this Our American Travels free keepsake printable, and I’m excited to offer it to you today!
So….funny story. I had never heard the song “I’m Proud to Be An American” in full until I dated (or maybe even married?) Jason. I have no idea why. We were on one of our adventures when it came on the radio. He belted it out like he was the song writer. Once I admitted that I had never heard it all the way through, he started singing it louder. Even now, every so often, he’ll just belt out the chorus to the song when we are in the car. When I saw the new Share a Coke and a Song Coca-Cola cans that have that exact lyric on them, I instantly remembered that road trip from years ago.
The song lyric tied in so perfectly to the Our American Travels theme that I decided to add it around the printable as a border. It’s just a little thing to help me reminisce. 🙂
Here are the supplies that you’ll need for this project:
- White card stock (8 1/2 x 11)
- Frame matted to an 8×10
- Printer
- Stickers (I found some cute heart and star shapes at the dollar store)
And here’s how to put this project together:
I have been trying to expand my hand drawing lately, and I sat down and drew this simple United States map. It’s not perfect by any means, but it serves the purpose for this printable. If you are a hand drawing artist, and you want to draw your own, grab the white card stock and create your own “map.”
Or right click on the image below to save it to your computer. Print it on the white card stock using your computer and printer.
Add stickers for the states that you have visited.
Then place the card stock in the frame and put it on display!
Even though our road trips may be few these days, I get to take a nice little road trip down memory lane each time I pass this frame!
Do you have any songs or road trip memories that cause you to reminisce? I guarantee the lyrics on a few of these Coca-Cola cans that are part of the Share a Coke and a Song Coca-Cola campaign will send you down memory lane!

This is such a fun and creative idea. My husband and kids would love this to show all the places we’ve been.
I have only lived in the United States since 2010, so I still have a lot of places to visit! This is such a great idea to keep track. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Love the idea of adding the different color stars! I think I would assign colors that had meaning like red for must go back!
Such a cute printable. We love doing summer road trips! Now I want this printable map.
I love this idea of keeping track of where we have traveled. My kids would have fun helping to keep track of this.
What a cute idea and you did a great job drawing the map! I can totally see Jason belting out that song…so funny!
This is such a fun way to keep up with where you have traveled to. This would make a great gift for someone that you have been on these adventures with.
