Well, I actually can lie. In reality, I hate big diaper bags. Yet that is what I find myself carrying. I suppose I should feel lucky that I am able to carry only one diaper bag. Before I had the boys, I assumed that I would possibly have to carry three smaller diaper bags. But that’s not happening. I can barely keep track of the one bag, so I would definitely not be able to maintain three bags. I have many people ask me questions about how I carry such a big diaper bag, so I thought I would share what a Mother of Multiples carries as snacks in her babies’ diaper bag.ย After all, something that has forced me stop carrying my nice, large handbags, deserves a little attention.
First of all, I would like to point out that my diaper bag cannot even close. I have to carry it with caution in order to make sure nothing falls out of it. I am not always successful. However, I sometimes pretend not to notice when dirty diapers escape the bag. Oops.
The boys are eating “real” food now, so I have to carry plenty of snacks in our bag. My goal in snack packing is to always have at least one thing crunchy and one thing healthy. I also pack bottled waters and empty sippy cups for fast filling when we are on the road.
For my “something healthy”, I find Stonyfield YoBaby Yogurt pouches to be an excellent option for on-the-go. I have always purchased the standard Stonyfield YoBaby Yogurt cups for my kids. I like that Stonyfield offers organic yogurt that my kids love without high fructose corn syrup or artificial flavors. Now, Stonyfield is the first to produce a refrigerated organic yogurt pouch. These pouches are offered at certain grocery stores, and this site has a locator to see if a store is located where you live. Recently, my babies tried the vanilla and blueberry varieties. They are true yogurt fanatics, so they enjoyed both.
My older daughter still likes snacks, too, and Stonyfield offers a YoKid Yogurt pouch. Her favorite is the strawberry flavor. Of course, I have to throw her a Stonyfield YoKid pouch in the diaper bag. Once I have a bag that packed out, one more thing doesn’t really matter– especially something that makes her so happy! I have to admit– she doesn’t look incredibly happy in this picture, but it’s probably just because I’m irritating her by taking her picture while she’s trying to eat her yogurt. Are there any “Friends” fans out there? Remember that episode where Chandler and Monica were having engagement pictures taken, and every time the photographer tried to take a picture Chandler’s face turned crazy? Yeah, my daughter has a little bit of that syndrome going on, too.
I stalk Stonyfield on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest, on the hunt for coupons and special offers.
What do you carry in your diaper bag?
Right now, mostly diapers, big girl undies, and changes of clothes. I’m going to be SO happy when it’s just one kid’s stuff in there – I can’t imagine all you have to keep track of!
Melanie, I love your big diaper bag! Stonyfield yogurt is the BEST!!! I love all their products!
We do too!
I’ll confess- it’s been many years since I’ve had a “diaper bag” but that doesn’t mean I don’t still carry a “supply bag” of some sort when we travel. Yes, friends.. even when your kids are older, you still have to carry some kind of bag. They only saving grace is that it’s not filed with diaper, ointments and wipes. But if you want to save money, it IS filled with the same kind of snacks you carried when they were babies ๐
Yes! We also pack a cooler, too, so that we do not have to get drinks while we are out.
What don’t I carry in my diaper bag? I thought that potty training would cut down on what I have to carry. Wrong! Now I just have to bring whole outfits! And, I love yogurt pouches. I’ll have to try these!
