My kids have had a lot of doctor’s appointments here lately. I always make their appointments early in the morning, which works great for them, but is more difficult on me to get everyone out of the house on time. To maximize my time, I’ve been packing stuff the night before. All moms know that you can’t run out of the house without snacks, and snacks are a definite must for my boys. Something fun that we’ve been trying is a themed snack. Right now, my kids find Minions hilarious. I’m capitalizing on this fascination with a combination of a DIY Minion Snack Bucket, complete with Mott’s Minions juice and applesauce.
Supplies to make the Minion Snack Bucket:
- Inexpensive yellow bucket
- Large wiggle eyes with sticky back
- 2 silver circles
- Glue stick
- Black sticker tape
- Scissors
- Black marker
- Optional: Blue washi tape
Stick one wiggle eye to the center of a silver circle.
Wrap the black tape around the top of the bucket.
Using the glue, attach the eyes to the bucket over the black tape.
Use the black marker to draw a mouth at the bottom right of the bucket.
Optional: Adhere blue washi tape around the bottom of the bucket to look like clothes.
Since you’ll need a spoon to go along with the applesauce, I spruced up my cutlery to reflect the Minion theme, too! Grab a spoon, blue or yellow napkin, black tape, one silver circle, glue, and a wiggle eye.
Attach the wiggle eye to the center of the silver circle.
Wrap the napkin around the spoon. Put a small piece of tape over the napkin edge to secure it. Don’t put too much so the napkin isn’t ruined with you try to use it.
Place a small amount of glue on the tape. Adhere the eye to the glue.
Now pack the snack bucket! This can be packed the night before and placed in the refrigerator, if desired.
My kids love having a themed snack bucket! And if you’re wondering where we found fun Minions themed snack packaging, we purchased them at Food Lion. The Mott’s Minions Limited Time Only packaging is available at Food Lion through July 31, 2015. From 6/17-6/30, get a FREE 6-pack of Mott’s Applesauce with the purchase of any (2) two Mott’s 64oz or 6-pack Juice products. Food Lion will also have new Minion approved Tropical BA-NA-NA applesauce in a 6pk of cups and Tropical BA-NA-NA juice drink in a 6pk of 8oz bottles (also in singles where available). That sounds like an yummy flavor! My kids would probably also like the new Strawberry BA-NA-NA applesauce in a 4pk of pouches (or singles where available). The applesauce pouches are always easier for throwing in diaper bags for on-the-go. Mott’s applesauce and juice drinks are both gluten free and great sources of Vitamin C! Follow along with Mott’s on Facebook and Pinterest to stay up-to-date with all the #MottsAndMinions shenanigans and the launch of these three new flavors at Food Lion!
Do you have any kids that are Minion obsessed? Are you ready for this summer’s Minions invasion?
We travel and have a lot of visits to the specialists, so I agree having snacks ready to go is so helpful! My kids enjoy any car trip better when we pack good snacks. Love how you created the Minion snack bucket. So creative! #client
