So far, our summer as a family has been fairly uneventful. It’s been several days that kind of run in together, interspersed with water balloons and outside play. I have made my daughter help me do some organizing and cleaning, which she moaned about until we ran across a photo album that dates back almost 30 years. She opened the photo album and exclaimed, “Is that me, Mama?” But, nope, the photo album was full of pictures of her own mom back in the 80’s. We flipped through the pages, and she stopped at this particular photo of me holding a funny stick, as she called it.
It was during my attempted explanation of miniature golf that I realized she had never been to play miniature golf. I have no idea why my husband and I have never taken her– I guess it has simply been an oversight on our part. I’m sure having the triplets last year had something to do with it. But I actually have several childhood memories of my parents taking me to play miniature golf. I remember playing at all sorts of miniature golf places. I also recall being allowed to cheat a little bit, as the photo demonstrates below.
So I’ve placed “Miniature Golf” on our Summer To-Do List. She doesn’t start back to preschool for another month, which should leave us with plenty of time. The only miniature golf place near our house is Adventure Landing. Do you have an Adventure Landing where you live? They have lots more than miniature golf, and I’ve other moms rave about hosting birthday parties there. They have something for everyone, from kids to adults so the whole family can enjoy all of the excitement that Adventure Landing has to offer. Adventure Landing is pay-as-you-play, so you can enjoy one or all of the attractions, which include Bumper Boats, Family Arcade, and Miniature Golf. Adventure Landing specializes in birthday party celebrations, and they are located in hometowns and not just vacation spots. If you are local, be sure to grab an Adventure Landing Coupon {here}!
How old were your kids when you first took them to play miniature golf?
Disclosure: A special thank you to Adventure Landing for their miniature golf!
I love your photos! I’m HORRIBLE at mini golf, but I always have fun when I go ๐
Awww … you were so cute!! I haven’t played miniature golf in ages!!
We love miniature golf, and took our girls for their first time on their 4th birthday. They loved it, but only stayed seriously interested for the first six holes. After that they were more interested in the waterfall.
Thanks for the head’s up regarding the attention span!
Love the pics. We love playing mini golf!
Mini golf is a classic summer kids’ outing. We have GOT to take my daughter. Loving the throwback photos. ๐
You look so much like your daughter (or the other way around I guess)! I think I’ve only ever been mini golfing once or twice my whole life- need to do more of it with my boys for sure!
