I’m making sweet potato bisque with apple salsa for the first time. The spicy flavor paired with the crunch of the apple salsa is a combo not to be beat. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
This recipe had me at apple salsa! This Sweet Potato Bisque with Apple Salsa has fantastic flavor. I stumbled across it recently, and it intimidated me a little. I had never made a bisque, but the flavor combo piqued my interest enough to give it a try.
We frequently have soup and roll nights here at our home. I make at least two different kinds of soup so that the kids have a choice along with a bread option. Rolls paired with a choice of either Garden Vegetable Soup or Chicken Noodle Soup is a family favorite. Items Used for Making Sweet Potato Bisque with Apple Salsa
- The recipe calls for a traditional blender, which most people probably have. I do own an immersion blender, and I used that. It worked well, but a traditional blender would get the job done, too.
- Sturdy cutting board
- A full J.A. Henckels knife set may be on my wish list, but any sharp kitchen knife set will work for all of the veggie cutting.
- The recipe makes 2 quarts of bisque. I cooked the bisque in a 4 quart pot to make sure that I had plenty of room for using the immersion blender.
Recipe Items or Substitutions
Surprisingly for me, I had all of the ingredients for the recipe in my pantry and refrigerator already except for the heavy cream. I had light cream, and I subbed this instead.
If you create this recipe, do not skip out on the apple salsa! It compliments the spicy flavor of the bisque. I’ll be keeping the apple salsa recipe on my list, along with my pico de gallo recipe, as favorite go-to fresh salsas!
