Four kids, three houses, five dinners, and two melt-downs. No, it’s not an episode of Wife Swap. It’s Thanksgiving Day at our house! My husband and I are very blessed to have grandparents still living, and it makes for a busy day of Thanksgiving rounds. With four kids in tow, getting all of our visiting accomplished in one day has been next to impossible. I’ve tailored a specific preparation plan for Thanksgiving Day. Heaven help us if anything goes awry. Maybe I should tweak my plan and add extra melt-down time (for me, not the kids).
One way that I save time on Thanksgiving Day is to make breakfast ahead of time. This Make-Ahead Breakfast Casserole, featuring MorningStar Farms Grillers Crumblers, is a great dish to prepare the evening before and then pop into the oven the next morning. That’s me, saving time wherever I can grab it!
Ingredients:
- 1 can of refrigerated biscuits
- 1 cup shredded four cheese
- 1 bag of MorningStar Farms Grillers Crumblers
- 8 eggs
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1 small onion, diced
- Cooking spray
- Optional: If your kiddos love veggies, feel free to add more vegetables. Peppers are a great addition!
Spray a 13×9 pan with cooking spray. Place biscuits in the bottom of the dish, pressing them lightly into the bottom of the dish.
Meanwhile, cook MorningStar Farms Grillers Crumblers and onion (and other vegetables, if desired) as directed on package.
Crack eggs into a large bowl. Add a dash of pepper and salt. Stir in cheese.
Once the MorningStar Farms Grillers Crumblers and vegetables are finished cooking, add these to the bowl with the egg mixture.
Combine thoroughly and pour this mixture over the biscuits.
If baking the next day, pop the dish in the refrigerator. The next morning, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the dish in the oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes, or until a slightly brown crust has formed on top.
MorningStar Farms products are conveniently sold in the freezer section in your local Target store.
this sounds wonderful! I’m not a vegetarian but I do enjoy the Morningstar Farms products. I sometimes even fool my husband w/ them! Well, good luck this Thanksgiving, sounds like a busy time!
That looks so easy…especially using the refrigerated biscuits! I am definitely pinning this for later!
I’ve got to try this! I barely have time to prepare breakfast these days.
great idea!
super yummy! I love any easy breakfast options and egg bakes are a huge hit in out house! YUM!
YUM! Breakfast is always one of those things I tend to forget during my holiday meal planning. Then, the next thing I know, I have guests arriving and nothing planned in the morning for them. It happens more times than I care to admit. I love how easy this is and it being a make-ahead breakfast is a lifesaver! #client
We love using these biscuits!
I love breakfast casseroles!
What a great time-saver recipe. Looks really good.
I love make ahead breakfasts! I’ve not made one with biscuits. I’m going to have to try those.
