The past few weeks we’ve been talking about Being Intentional in sharing our faith on Wednesdays. I’ve enjoyed sharing what’s on my heart and minds with you. And, I truly appreciate you listening and joining in the conversation! This Wednesday, I have a special treat for you. I’ve recently been given a copy of the Kirk Cameron film Unstoppable to review and giveaway! A huge thank-you to them for sponsoring this chance for one of my readers to win an awesome faith based film.
In the movie, Kirk Cameron addresses the age old question, “Why do bad things happen to good people?” He begins the film by telling the story of a young person that he knew who lost his bttle with cancer. From here, Kirk Cameron retraces the Bible from the beginning to demonstrate the faults of humankind, yet express how God has chosen to overlook this and love us anyway. He really does an excellent job at bringing the discussion full circle.
This is a great film to share with family and friends, especially those who struggle with the question of why God allows bad things to happen even though He is able to cease them. I know that this is a topic many of our youth students debate, as do most adults.
Here is a brief synopsis of Unstoppable:
Inspired by the death of Cameron’s close friend who succumbed to cancer at the age of 15, Kirk Cameron takes viewers on an inspiring and hope-filled visual journey to better understand the biggest doubt-raising question in faith: “Where is God in the midst of tragedy and suffering?”
Going back to the beginning—literally—Kirk investigates the origins of good and evil and how they impact our lives … and our eternities. UNSTOPPABLE will prompt audiences to consider the role that pain and suffering has in our lives, as they affirm their personal views on faith, and encourage conversation starters about God, suffering, and hope.
