Welcome to the Handprint the Alphabet series for kids! We’re looking to learn and get creative with our preschoolers this summer. Today is letter “B.” While there are lots of objects we could do, today, “B” is for Butterfly! Today we are using both little hands for this simple handprint craft. Be sure to pop over and check out my Tips for Great Handprint Art with Kids post if you’ve never done handprint art with kids before. I share a few pointers plus my go-to supplies!
Supplies (may include affiliate links):
- Paper
- Paint for butterfly
- Paintbrush
- Red colored pencil or marker
- Black colored pencil or marker
- Optional: pencil
Paint both of your child’s hands with the paint. If you have wiggly little ones like I do, paint only one hand at a time. Otherwise, they will smear paint all over the table while you’re painting the other hand. Trust me on this one!
Apply a good coat of paint to each hand. Press the hands down, one at a time so that the thumbs over lap. Let the paint dry completely. Use the marker or colored pencils to draw the body, eyes, mouth, and antennas. If needed, use the pencil to draw lightly draw them in before using the colored pencils or markers.
Thanks for following along, and I’ll see you back on Monday with the letter “C!”
