While picking up the tray for the Painted and Washi Tape tray at AC Moore, I noticed these super cute wood frames. I picked up a few of them, and my daughter and I have been having fun crafting with them! With VBS and summer church craft season fast approaching, we decided to do a quick craft that would be great for Sunday School, Children’s Church, or VBS. This project is best for older kids (think 6 and up) who can paint fairly well on their own.
These frames ring in at $1 each at AC Moore, meaning that this may not be the most cost effective project if you have a large group.
Supplies:
- Plain wood frame
- Plain wood cross (we used one that was originally an ornament)
- Paint
- Paintbrush
- Craft glue
- Vinyl letters or sticker letters
- A cute kid or baby picture!
Paint the frame and cross. Let them dry completely.
I used my Silhouette to cut out the words “Jesus Loves Me” in vinyl. You can also find letter stickers at the arts and crafts store. Apply these to the top of the frame.
Glue the cross to the front of the frame. Let dry.
Add a cute photo. I always use the insert that comes in the frame as a template to cut my picture for the frame.
Optional: You can also seal the frame if you want. This would be definitely a step for older kids, but it’s an idea if you want to make sure the letters are on there permanently!
