Handmade gifts from my kids hold a special place in my heart. I have several displayed throughout the house, and others I have in a keepsake box. Luckily, my kids enjoy crafting (wonder where they got that from?), and even the boys like making neat items for their mom. We often craft together as a family, and this Craft Stick Flower Bouquet is a project that we made for their grandmothers for Mother’s Day. I cut the flowers with my Cricut machine, and they create the bouquet.
Here’s how to make a craft stick flower bouquet
First, grab all the supplies. We are cutting the flowers with my Cricut machine for this project, but this craft can also be created without it by freehand drawing the flowers and cutting them out by hand.
Supplies for the Craft Stick Flower Bouquet
- Craft sticks (preferably green but any color will work) from Craft Project Ideas
- Acrylic jewels from Craft Project Ideas
- Card stock, various colors
- Glue
- Cricut machine- Any of the Explore Air models or Maker models will work!
- Cricut LightGrip Cutting Mat
- Weeding Tool
- Ribbon
Steps to Create the Project
Open up Cricut Design Space. Cut your choice of flowers or use these flowers from my project.
Cut the flowers with the Cricut machine. Use the weeding tool to remove them from the Cutting Mat and to remove any unnecessary card stock from the design. The project cuts here are simple, but there will be multiple paper switches for the various colors.
Next, pass the baton to the kids to finish the bouquet. Glue an acrylic jewel to the center of each flower.
Then glue the flower (and any leaves that you may have cut) to the craft stick.
Arrange the craft sticks as needed and glue them together. Once the glue has dried, tie a ribbon around to complete the presentation.
Now gift to your favorite mom or grandmother.
Here’s another craft stick flower project idea that uses cupcake liners (no Cricut machine required).
