Ya’ll, I’ve found a new graphic obsession! I love creating printables and invitation, but I’ve always struggled with finding the best place to get images. I signed up for a 7 day free trial over at GraphicStock, and within a short matter of time I had designed this adorable Woodland Forest Animals Invitation!
I took the GraphicStock Challenge with this invitation. The #GraphicStockChallenge invites users to use 5 or more images from the site to create one themed project. The Autumn Forest Stock Image on GraphicStock immediately caught my eye. Foxes, hedgehogs, and owls are super popular right now, and I think they are just the cutest for invitations to baby showers, cookouts, and fall parties.
Here’s how I designed this Woodland Forest Animals Invitation. After signing up for the 7 day free trial, I downloaded the Autumn Forest Stock Image Set. The awesome thing about #GraphicStock is that they have 250,000 graphics, images, vectors, icons, and more that are 100% royalty free with no usage restrictions, even if you chose to cancel the subscription.
After downloading the image set, I opened up my photo editing software. For this project, I am using an older version Photoshop Elements.
I created a rectangle in the software and covered it with a brown background. I am using a textured background, but a solid color would look great, too.
I used a green oval shape to create a grassy knoll on the bottom.
Then, I opened up the Autumn Forest Stock Image that I had previously downloaded. Since I am working in Photoshop and with a PNG file, these images are not individual. I needed to crop each one that I wanted to use and remove the background with the wand tool. I began with a leaf element.
I first cropped it, and then I used the wand tool to remove it from the white background.
I then transferred it to the invitation.
I repeated the steps of cropping each image and removing the white background until I had added all the elements that I wanted to the invitation.
From here, I added the text to the invitation. I transferred the invitation over to PicMonkey for this step, but you can also stay in Photoshop Elements.
Adorable and easy, right?
Want to try GraphicStock for an upcoming invitation or event? Sign up for their free 7 day trial period, and you can download up to 140 images during this trial period alone! GraphicStock does automatically enroll users in a monthly plan after the 7 day trial period is complete, so don’t forget to set a reminder to cancel if you do not want to continue the subscription.
What would you create with the GraphicStock Challenge? These Wedding Stock Images are lovely, too!
Those invitations are so cute!! I’m going to have to remember Graphic Stock when working on my next project!
Ooooh…Those wedding sets look fabulous. I wish the trial was more than 7 days. I’ll have to try this out, though. I need to work on some invitations really soon. Thanks for your insight and the info!
