Are you looking for a last minute and easy gift idea? Using wrapping items that I already had around the house and a few store bought items, we created this His Eye is on the Sparrow Bird Gift Idea for Christmas gift giving. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
As a child, my mom encouraged me to give gifts to those who had been significant in my life over the past year. Now that I’m an adult, I realize how hard it can be to place everyone that impacts myself or my children on our Christmas gift list! However, I’ve encouraged my children to get creative and think of gift ideas that are inexpensive yet make something great to give. We were in a store recently, and my kids spotted a suet bird feeder and suet cakes. They wanted to give them to someone who loves bird watching. On the store shelf, the items didn’t look that impressive. But I had an idea to use them to create a lovely gift, and this His Eye is on the Sparrow Bird Gift Idea came to life.
Supplies for this His Eye is on the Sparrow Bird Gift Idea:
- (2) suet cakes – These may be homemade or store bought. I am using store bought ones, but the packaging was not attractive, and I removed it to place the suet cakes in plastic bags.
- (1) suet bird feeder
- White or brown kraft wrapping paper
- Baker’s twine
- Card stock printable- I am using the His Eye Is on the Sparrow printable from Hymns and Verses. I sized the printable down to a gift tag size, printed it, and then glued a piece of festive card stock on the back. However, a regular gift tag may also be used.
- Optional: a hole punch and card stock if creating your own printable tag.
How to Assemble:
Individually wrap each suet cake with the white or brown wrapping paper. Secure the wrapping with baker’s twine.
Place the suet feeder on the bottom. Stack each wrapped suet cake on top of the feeder. Secure the stack tightly with baker’s twine.
Create the tag or grab your pre-made tag. Add it to the top of the package with the baker’s twine.
And it’s done!
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. Matthew 10:29-31
