Last week was the kick-off to the Let’s Write a Note Series, and I’ve been amazed at the response of readers who have taken the challenge to send a minimum of four handwritten notes through the month of September. The first prompt was to send a note to a family member. We actually sent several note cards out to family members last week. My daughter recently had a birthday party, so we sent a stack of Thank You notes. This week, the challenge is to send a handwritten note to a friend!
Week Two: A Friend
Send a note to your best friend, a long lost friend, or someone that you wish was your friend. 🙂 It can be anything from a postcard to a Thinking of You card to a Thank You card!
Remember: The cards for this challenge do not have to be handmade, only hand written. This may also be a great chance to get the little ones involved. Kids love sending AND receiving mail, so passing this challenge on to your kids is an excellent idea, as well!
I was pleasantly surprised to receive two handwritten cards in the mail this past week, and they both came at excellent times! One came at a time when I had walked to the mailbox after struggling with the kids, so it was nice to read something that was encouraging after a rough morning.
If you want to make your own note cards, here are five fun handmade note card ideas that I ran across this week that are cute for some note card making this week! A few of them do require special equipment, but they can all be used for inspiration.

Who will you be sending a card to this week?
Such cute ideas, Melanie! Everybody loves a kind note!
This is a great challenge. Bringing back the art of note writing. I do this with my niece that lives in another state. She is 8 and loves getting mail. The joy of knowing she is happy getting a note in the mail from me makes me so happy!
Great challenge!
Have a good week!!!
Such cute inspiration cards! i love the idea of sending out hand-written notes and letters 🙂
They say that a handwritten note is the biggest luxury. It’s my wedding anniversary this week, so I know I am definitely writing one this week! Love, Marketa
As a cardmaker I should be doing more of this too 🙂 Thanks for this post!
