Give a plain wreath ornament glitter sparkle with the Gold Tip Wreath Ornament. Thank you to CraftProjectIdeas.com for supplying several of the supplies for today’s project.
If you haven’t noticed yet, I enjoy making Christmas ornaments. They are definitely one of my top five crafting projects. I made this one last year but never got around to posting it on the blog here. Have a little glitter and Mod Podge? Add sparkle and shine to a plain wreath ornament!
Supplies:
- Plain wreath ornament
- Gold Glitter from CraftProjectIdeas.com
- Mod Podge
- Foam sponge brush
- Disposable container or plate
- Wood stick (like a popsicle stick)
- Ribbon
- Hot glue gun and hot glue sticks
In the disposable container or plate, pour a bit of Mod Podge. Use the wood stick to mix in glitter. There really isn’t a “recipe” for this. Add glitter until all the Mod Podge is consumed with glitter.
Take the wreath ornament and use the foam sponge brush to paint the glitter on the tips of the ornament. You can also try dipping the ornament in the glitter and rotating it until you have the glitter on all the ornament tips.
Let the Mod Podge dry completely. The glitter may look chunky until the Mod Podge has dried.
Wrap the ribbon around the wreath ornament, attaching the ribbon to the back of the ornament at the top with hot glue.
Use any color glitter to match the ornament to your holiday decor. Wouldn’t this look lovely with maybe a red and gold combination? I may have to try that next!
Also, a note about the ribbon- the thinner the ribbon, the best that it will work for this ornament. The ribbon will “sit” on the wreath needles more than they will nest into them. Try to avoid wire ribbon for the ornament.
