Do you use non-traditional colors for Christmas? We alternate years- one year we use red and green, then the next year we do pinks, blues, and bright colors. So my gift tags this year were a little crazy, too. These fun pom pom gift tags can be used to wrap your non-traditional Christmas gifts or to wrap your birthday gifts throughout the year. These Shimmer Poms were sent to me by the great folks over at craftprojectideas.com and are available in the craft section at Walmart.
Supplies:
- Assorted shimmer pom poms
- Gift tags (purchase pre-cut ones from an arts and crafts store or cut your own with a Silhouette or Cricut)
- Thread
- Needle
- Hot glue
Lay out the number of pom poms that will fit across the gift tag.
With a needle and thread, run a piece of thread through the middle of the pom poms in the desired order.
Lay the poms across the gift tag. Hot glue the poms and very tip of both ends of the thread to the gift tag. Clip the thread close to the glue.
If you are using regular poms then you may be able to get by without the needle and thread and simply hot glue the poms on the gift tag. However, the shimmer poms have a prickly surface that make it difficult for the poms to stick to a surface. The thread helps to make sure the poms will stay on the gift tag.
In a Blink Timeline: These are super simple, and one tag takes about 3 minutes to make.
Let the Kids Help: Since this involves hot glue, this is mainly an adult craft, but the kids can help chose the pom pom colors and order.
What a fun way to use pom poms! Very festive gift tags!
