Just because it’s the end of September doesn’t mean the holidays won’t be here before you can blink an eye. I’m always looking for kids ideas for kids. We don’t give many adult gifts in our family, but we do for the kids. I like to switch it up every now and again, so when I received the chance to try out a Kiwi Crate, I definitely wanted to try it out to see how if it would work as a gift idea. Thanks to Kiwi Crate for supplying the Farm Fun box today!
My daughter’s crate arrived while she was at preschool. I opened it, you know, just to check and make sure all the pieces were there. I was pleased to see a Farm Fun theme crate. My daughter recently had a field trip to a farm and thought it was the greatest. We also have chickens, dogs, and rabbits at our house, so she has a definite fondness for animals. I closed it up to surprise her with it when she arrived at home.
The crate had a fun finger puppet activity and a farm plot. She was excited to dig right in when she got home. She was so excited! For some reason, she was the most surprised that they had sent her special scissors with her crate. It’s the little things, folks. She colored while I opened the rest of the packaging.
Then she set to work on the finger puppets. The crate is designed so that she was able to do everything self-sufficiently. The felt pieces were adhesive-backed, so we didn’t even need glue.
After finishing the finger puppets, she used the supplies to make her Farm Plot. She didn’t think that she would get the grass and radishes to grow “for real”, so imagine her excitement when she came home only a few days later to see the grass growing in her plot “for real!”
I’ve tried other subscription services and never made it past the trial box. The contents just weren’t worth it. In fact, I bet you can’t even find another post about one here on the blog. The Kiwi Crate box has been the first that I feel is really worth the time and money. The contents are all interactive- not just some new product or toy- that not only keep them occupied, but also feed their interest in learning about new things. Monthly crates include all the materials & inspiration for 2-3 hands-on projects, plus a 16 page magazine with activities. With single crate options and gift subscription options, Kiwi Crate is definitely worth looking into for a fresh gift idea for the holidays. With code SE25, subscribers can receive 25% off 1st month subscription to Kiwi Crate. New subscribers also receive free shipping PLUS a bonus welcome kit.
