Frozen Yogurt Discs

I know I’ve shared how much I like the Family Fun magazine. The magazine is full of easy to do crafts and recipes that are geared for kids. This month, the little one and I found two activities that we immediately knew we wanted to do- and we already had all the items at home to do them. Today, I’m sharing these easy Yogurt Disks (inspiration from July issue of Family Fun Magazine).

Skill level: Beginner (appropriate for older children to complete by themselves)

Ingredients/Supplies:
  • Kids’ Yogurt
  • Scissors
  • Plastic baggie
  • Wax paper or freezer paper
  • Summer fruit (we used blueberries)

Start by emptying the kids’ yogurt into the plastic baggie. Snip off a corner of the bag to form a DIY piping bag.ย

Place the wax/freezer paper onto a freezer safe plate. Pipe the yogurt onto the paper in a circular shape.ย

Place a piece of your favorite fruit into the middle of each disc (perfect job for the kiddos!).

Freeze for 45 minutes to an hour. I made two batches- one I froze for 30 minutes and the other for an hour. The 30 minute batch wasn’t quite frozen and thawed out extremely quickly. The hour batch was perfect. Larger discs need longer freezing time than smaller discs.

Take out of the freezer and enjoy!

I shared an idea from Family Fun this week, too. Love that magazine! These look yummy. Do they melt quickly and get messy, or do they stay frozen long enough for the kids to eat them? Thanks for joining the party at One Creative Weekend!
