I had a great Mother’s Day this year. My hubby took me out to a dinner at a new restaurant, to a concert with an orchestra, and gave me a set of lovely pearl earrings that I had been wanting. He knew what to get because I had been leaving not-so-subtle hints. Okay, I flat out told him what I wanted. While I love surprises, I’ve discovered over the years that, for the sake of our relationship, sometimes it’s just best to be forthright with an item that may be on my wishlist. It makes it simpler for all of us. I’ve resorted to simple myself when it comes to buying Mother’s Day gifts for my own mom and my mother-in-law. If you follow along regularly, then you know that I tend to rely on plants and photo gifts when it comes to Mother’s Day, birthday, or any holiday gift giving for the leading ladies in our family. It’s my gifting safe zone. Come on, you know what I’m talking about!
One item that I have never purchased for my mom or mother-in-law is a fragrance gift. Let’s face it- fragrances are not typically cheap, and I would regret to make an investment in a gift that they would despise or never wear. However, I would appreciate another gift idea to add to my “safe zone”, so this year I’m doing something a little different. Mother’s Day may be over, but I’ve picked up a few affordable fragrances as post-Mother’s Day gifts. After all, shouldn’t we celebrate mom every day? This way, mom can try out a new fragrance, and let me know if it fits her style!
I can’t give any gift without adding a handmade element, so today I’m also including free printable fragrance gift tags to go along with these two particular fragrances. If you’re a Sizzix user, then you get an extra treat. I’m showing how to easily pair the printables with a handmade gift tag cut from a Sizzix die!
I’ve made these free printables pretty large so that you can resize them to your project. I printed them off larger when using them just as a printable and smaller when attaching them to the Sizzix gift tag. To download them, simply right click the image below to save it to your computer, and print with your usual software. I designed these to go along specifically with the Coty Love2Love fragrances of Bluebell + White Tea and Rose + Peach that I purchased.
When it comes to gifting these, here are three quick packaging ideas.
They are pretty much self-explanatory. The end cap where I found these fragrances at Walmart included a .50 cent matching gift bag that makes a super quick packaging idea.
Secondly, you can print off one of the printable gift tags and attach it to the product. Simply print them off, cut them out, and use ribbon or twine to attach.
Thirdly, use a die cutting machine (I’m using my Sizzix!) to cut out a gift tag shape.
Use glue to attach the gift tag pieces and printable to one another.
Attach the tag to the item with ribbon or twine.
These Coty Love2Love fragrances can be purchased at a Walmart near you. Chose from five fun, simple, and colorful fragrances enclosed in a lovely bottle with a whimsical petal shaped cap. I chose Bluebell + White Tea because it is captivating, radiant, and feminine. I chose Fresh Rose + Peach due to its classic natural comfort fragrance. As you can see in the end cap photo, at a price point of only $9.98, letting mom try a new scent can be affordable and fun!
Does your mom have a favorite fragrance?
I agree that we should celebrate Moms all year round and these fragrances are a wonderful way to do it! I love both of these and think the moms in my life would, too! #client
I love these gift tags and Mom’s should be celebrated every day! 🙂
