I adore making Christmas ornaments with my Cricut. The holiday season is one of the best times to be a Cricut owner. Whether you craft for profit or just for fun, Christmas brings out the crafty side of everyone! Even my husband has been known to wrap a Christmas present or two this time of the year.
This Christmas ornament uses faux leather to add an interesting texture to the Christmas tree. You do not need a Cricut Maker to create it. Any Cricut Explore machine will do the trick!
Faux Leather Christmas Ornament Supplies:
- Cricut Explore Air 2
- Cricut Standard Grip Cutting Mat
- Cricut Faux Leather in two colors
- Crafting glue
- Twine
- (Optional): a Gold Cricut Pen
You can find my Cricut Design Space cut file here. Once you have opened the design, cut it on the Standard Grip Cutting Mat with the two different Faux Leather colors.
Once cut, you may do this optional step. I used a gold Cricut Pen and drew a line on the bulb topper on each side. I then colored above the line to make it look like the top of the ornament had a metallic tint.
Use the craft glue to secure the tree to the center of one of the bulbs. I glued the year to the opposite bulb.
Place the two bulbs with the felt backings together and adhere with the craft glue. Be sure to glue even the top portion together well.
Once dried. add twine to the top for an ornament hanger.

Cute, cute, cute!
I love the look of the faux leather and how you colored the top of the bulb!
I really like how you added the gold pen at the top. I assumed the ornament shape was wood – fooled me!
It’s so pretty! The gold pen is a touch of genius!!
