I made this wreath a few weeks ago for a lovely lady in our church. I’ve always wanted to make one of these burlap wreaths. I’ve seen so many tutorials on YouTube and Pinterest, and I thought I would try my hand at one. I added my own touches with the painted wood accents, and this Faith & Cross Burlap Wreath was created.
Supplies:
- Burlap
- Wood cross and Faith pieces- I found mine at Walmart. They are Darice brand.
- Acrylic paint
- Paintbrush
- Wire wreath form
- Floral wire
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun and hot glue sticks
First, you’ll need to use the burlap to insert into the wreath form. I could have made a video or photo tutorial to do that, but I decided to save my energy for other stuff because there are so many other amazing tutorials out there! I like this YouTube video from BurlapWreath.com.
I had a roll of lime green burlap that I had saved for a special project. It went great with the paint that I had picked out for the wood, so I decided to add it to the wreath at the top.
Next, paint the wood accent pieces. You can also do this first if you want to let them dry while doing the burlap part.
Use the hot glue gun to secure the “Faith” wood accent to the top of the wreath.
To secure the cross in the center, I used bow wire. Feel free to use whatever wire that you have handy. Hot glue strips across the back of the painted cross. Leave plenty of extra wire hanging. This is what you’ll use to attach the cross to the wreath.
Tie the wire to the wreath, making sure the cross is in the center opening. If needed, add hot glue for extra security. And that’s it! Your Faith & Cross Wreath is ready to hang or gift.
It is so pretty and bright! I love it.
