See how to make a fun and easy stamped card with card scraps. This post is sponsored by Glue Dots and Whimsy Stamps.
I’m not traditionally a “stamper.” I’ve tried. A few years ago, I came across an entire stamping collection at a thrift store. Most of the stamps and supplies looked brand new. They were in a large plastic bin and were a stamper’s dream! I bought it because, well, I’m a crafter and love all things crafting. But I haven’t used it very much since purchasing. For me, I think get intimidated by stamping. Will the project come out correctly or will I ruin it? I truly overthink it. Over the past few months, I’m experimented with more stamping projects. I’ve discovered that they do not have to be perfect, and, through the process, I’ve truly enjoyed them! If you find yourself intimidated by stamping projects, here is an easy beginner project. To make it even better, I’m showing how to use card scraps or pieces from greeting cards to minimize cost.
Do you receive many greeting cards in the mail? When we receive them, I keep some of them, but not all. I do not like throwing them away, and I often reuse them in projects such as these.
Supplies:
- Whimsy Stamps Bunny Picking Flowers
- Glue Dots Glue Lines
- Stamp Pad
- Cricut paper trimmer
- Colored pencils
- 4 x 6 blank card
- Ric rac scraps
- Card scraps
Step 1
Use the stamp pad and the rubber stamp from Whimsy Stamps to stamp on a blank side of a card scrap. Let the ink dry completely.
Step 2
Color in the design with colored pencils.
Step 3
Apply Glue Dots Glue Lines to the back of a card scrap that is a bit larger than the stamped card scrap. For this project, I liked the solid side rather than the floral side of the card scrap.
Step 4
Press the card scrap into the center of the card.
Step 5
Apply Glue Dots Glue Lines to the back of the stamped card scrap. Press the piece into the center of the card.
Step 6
Apply Glue Dots Glue Lines across the top and bottom of the card where desired. Press the ric rac onto the adhesive.

Did you use Glue Dots on the ric rack? Thats an idea I never thought of. Thanks. ๐
Hi, yes I used Glue Lines.
This bunny is so adorable. Great card!
Yes, let’s pass over winter and go straight to spring with this fun card and the Easter Bunny!
Nothing says loving more than a hand-crafted card made especially for someone, knowing that time, thought and detail went into it. Handmade doesn’t mean it has to be perfect, Melanie.
I love this image!

Oh my! What adorable card!!! Too cute!!!
Ooh yes! I totally concur. I tend to overthink things too! It can stop me from ever starting projects. But I’ve learnt to push through and just start. This invariably leads to lovely creative time. Fab creation, love the ric rac finish. Hugs, Wends xoxo
Love this card. I only use prisma color pencils to color and love seeing a card done without markers as I would be able to color this too
Love the bunny stamp, so cute! I was neverous and over thought the steps/process. After just playing around a few times and seeing different techniques there are endless possibilities! Even if I smudge it up!

Such an adorable card! Great idea recycling the backs of old cards! Very clever idea!
Clean and sweet!!! Love it!
Very cute card. I am intimidated by stamping too. I’ve made a few cards just as tester but nothing I am confident enough in sending out. I keep cards given to me too. I love looking back at them later.
This is such a sweet card! I love your coloring and that bunny is too cute!
So, so cute! Reminds me of bringing home a drawing to Mommy!
Aww! That bunny is too precious! Love how you reuse your card scraps. My mother-in-law sends me cute little cards, and I always save them, so I can reuse some of the elements. They aren’t hand made, but they are still really pretty. Thanks so much for sharing. ๐๐๐
