How many of your kids have a Christmas tree in their room? My daughter does. But not just any tree. A bright bubble gum pink, girly girl Christmas tree. O course, her tree has non-traditional ornaments on it, too- princesses and sweet little feminine ornaments. This past weekend she wanted to make a new ornament for her tree, so we made an Easy Kid’s Present Ornament with a little craft paint and craft sticks/wood glue compliments from my friends over at CraftProjectIdeas.com.
Supplies:
- 5 mini wood craft sticks
- Paint- 2 colors (I used pink and purple)
- Paintbrush
- Wood Glue (if an adult is making this ornament, then you can substitute the wood glue for hot glue)
- Ribbon
Begin by painting the wooden craft sticks. Paint four the same color and one an alternate color. It may take two coats of paint or so to get good coverage over the wood. Let dry. Can you tell who painted my wooden sticks for me?
Take the four sticks that are the same color. Glue two ends together like so.
Continue gluing the sticks together to form a box.
Glue the alternate colored stick in the middle.
Make a bow with the ribbon and glue onto the top middle of the present ornament.
Cut a length of ribbon about five inches long. Glue this to the back of the present to form the ornament hanger.
Let all the glue dry, then decorate your tree with the home made ornament. Use a sharpie to write the year on the back as a keepsake.

Popsicle sticks are the best craft supply for kids, I believe! These present ornaments are so cute!
