I like finding creative uses for cute poms. For Christmas, I made Pom Pom gift tags that used special sparkly poms. So when the awesome folks at CraftProjectIdeas.com sent me another package of variety sized poms, I thought I’d use them for a gift tag for a birthday party. The gift was ice cream themed, so an easy ice cream gift tag it is!
Supplies:
- Poms in assorted sizes (you’ll need a small, medium, and large pom)
- Blank gift tag (buy a pre-made one or cut one out! I cut one out using my Cricut Birthday Bash cartridge)
- Cut a triangle from cardstock to use as the ice cream cone- adjust the triangle size to about half of the size of the gift tag
- Hot glue and hot glue gun
Begin by gluing the triangle to the bottom of the gift tag.
Now glue a large pom at the top of the triangle.
Glue a medium pom on top of the large pom.
Glue a small pom on top of the medium pom.
So easy, right? Simple things make the best embellishments!
My daughter LOVES ice cream & cupcakes..she would adore this gift tag! ๐
Very cute idea! I need to do a couple of these and set aside for immediate need gift packaging. Thanks!
What a cute way to use poms, especially since I have a ton leftover from making sensory bottles. And I love having ice cream parties so these would be perfect.
Thanks, Britni! I’m always trying to find ways to use poms!
These are adorable. I was just starting to think the other day about my daughter’s 4th birthday and as a kid who love dessert, I was thinking a little ice cream social would be perfect. This idea would be great for little invites too! Thanks for sharing. I’d love it if you came over and shared at The Makers. It is live right now at TinySidekick.com. Hope to see you there!
Yes, they would be great for invites! Thanks for letting me know about the party- I will check it out!
These are so adorable!
Your tag is so cute! Can’t wait to make some!

Oh my this is adorable! My little man goes nuts every time he sees a non food object that is made to look like ice cream. He will love making these.
