Do-It-Herself Hair Routine for Girls

This Do-It-Herself Hair Routine for Girls is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of SoCozy. All opinions are my own and not edited by the sponsor.

Recently, my daughter started doing her own hair for school. This wasn’t by my decision, mind you. I enjoy doing her hair and having girl-to-girl conversations. But she’s a big girl now, and this was yet another step in her journey of independence. I set out to find easy hair styles that she can do on her own, as well as teach her the proper way to use her various SoCozy hair products on her own. Today I’m sharing one of her go-to, super easy, hair styles that she can do all by herself on school mornings.

Step 1:

It all starts with clean hair. Kids do not always realize how to wash their hair thoroughly, so this was something that I had to deliberately teach her. The evening before, she washes her hair with SoCozy 3 in 1 shampoo.

Step 2:

When she wakes up in the morning, her hair is pretty crazy! She uses the SoCozy Detangler to spray on her hair to reduce frizz.

Step 3:

She then pulls her hair back into a ponytail.

Step 4:

My daughter despises crazy fly-aways in her hair. She uses the SoCozy Styling Cream to smooth down any problem areas.

Step 5:

Add a cute hair accessory, like a hair bow or a fun hair band! My daughter does gymnastics, and she plays pretty hard during the day, so her hair can get out of hand by the time 3 pm rounds around. The combination of the SoCozy Styling Cream and the hair band keep those fly aways at bay.

Here’s a picture of her hair after a full day at school!

We’ve been using SoCozy products fora few years now, and my daughter loves them. I like that the products are non-toxic, and made without parabens, formaldehyde, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic color, propylene glycol, alcohol, gluten, wheat, peanuts and tree nuts. SoCozy offers products that target specific hair concerns like tangled hair problems and lice prevention products. All kids with any hair type can use SoCozy products!

Detangler for kids is a gift from Heaven. I remember my mom trying to comb my hair when I was a kid and I would kick and scream until she finally started using it lol.

Shoot, I still use it to this very day!

I had not heard of these products before. My daughter wakes up w/ super frizzy and crazy hair too. I’m glad to hear peanut/tree nut free so I think it’s probably safe for us to use. I’m def. going to check it out for her.

This is great for Moms of young girls, especially as they’re beginning to want a bit of independence. Wish I’d had this as a kid!!

I have boys and they definitely do a poor job washing their hair. I need to have them give this shampoo a try!

Great tips! I wish they had these when I was a kid. I really did not like getting tangles.
