For the most part, I would say that I’m finished with last year’s bathroom remodel. But I don’t think I’ve ever done a post about it, mainly because I feel like there are still a few unfinished touches that I need to complete.ย
One of our bathroom walls is large and needed some wall art badly. A few months ago, I ran across a tube of wall decals at Goodwill. They were still new in the pack from Hobby Lobby- $19.99 at the store, $1.00 at Goodwill. So I brought it home for a purpose.
After some debate (I wanted to out them up in the dining room, but the hubby was voting for the bathroom), the bathroom won. The decals are designed to stick directly to the wall, but I wanted them to have more of a “picture/ art piece” look.ย
I had the hubby cut 6 wood squares that matched the size of the decals.ย
I then painted the wood the same color as the bathroom walls.
ย I carefully applied each decal to each square after the paint dried. The most difficult part was hanging these evenly on the wall.
We still have a fairly big space on the wall surrounding the wall art. Any suggestions on what should go there?

This is an awesome project!! I might just have to attempt to make something similar for my new house! Love the different colors of each frame ๐
This is just awesome. Got to love goodwill. I saw your ad on Live Laugh Rowe and I wanted to come by and show your blog some love. I was already a follower.
Great idea. It looks nice! ๐
Those look great! I have the same wall art, but I haven’t decided what to do with them yet!
Hi! I popped over from live.laugh.rowe to check you out and give you some blog love. I really like your site and am now following you as well. As to your question of what to hang on either side of your new art, how about two mirrors? Maybe something smaller and decorative, not a traditional “bathroom” mirror, just a thought. . I really like how your art turned out and think it looks nice there.
What a bargain for those decals! They look great on the wood panels! – and kind of nice with all the space around them!

Hope you have a fabulous week!
