Legos.
Hot Wheels.
Nerf Guns.
Sound familiar? As a mom of triplet boys, these are go-to toys in our home. They also happen to be the toys that are the most difficult to organize. Between awkward shapes and multiple small pieces, it can be hard to figure out the best way to keep these toys in their space.
My husband and I recently tackled the Nerf gun issue. The boys have multiple shapes and sizes of Nerf Guns, combined with an arsenal of Nerf Gun bullets. Pinterest provided the answer (as it often does!) with this DIY Nerf Gun Pegboard Wall. It works great for Nerf Gun Storage!
This was the easiest DIY that we have done in a long time. We purchased the following supplies from a local home improvement store:
- White pegboard
- Pegboard Mounting and Spacer Kit
- Pegboard Accessory Kit
We already had the following tools that we needed:
We measured our space where we wanted to hang the pegboard first. We have an awkward wall in the playroom that has a large air filter space, making it hard to utilize the wall since we do not want to cover the air filter compartment. My husband cut the pegboard to fit around the air filter area.
Next, we used the Pegboard Mounting and Spacer Kit to hang the pegboard. Then we were ready to hang the pegboard accessory pieces. Some were perfect for the Nerf Guns and others actually worked for their light sabers. I used a basket for the Nerf Gun bullets.
The boys have done a great job at keeping their Nerf Guns on the wall. This has made it much easier for them to help pick up and organize their Nerf Guns on their own (since the Nerf Guns actually have a home now).
