Do you have a kid that loves LEGO® blocks? Or are your gifting LEGO® blocks for a child’s birthday? If you are giving LEGO® blocks this year, keep this DIY LEGO® gift wrap in mind. It is a fun and inexpensive way to give a LEGO® themed gift.
This gift wrap is ideal for younger kids who are still into coloring. Did you know that LEGO® has a line of building blocks especially for kids ages 1 1/2-5 and one for ages 4 and up? The LEGO® DUPLO® and LEGO® JUNIORS are perfect lines for this gift wrap.
Here are the supplies that you’ll need:
- White wrapping paper
- Tape
- Scissors
- Baker’s Twine
- Crayons
- Glue stick
Begin by finding a LEGO® themed coloring page. I found mine on the LEGO® website. Print it off.
Wrap the LEGO® DUPLO or JUNIORS set in the white paper.
Use the glue stick to adhere the coloring sheet to the front of the gift. If needed, trim the sheet down to fit the gift. Press the edges down so that they are as flush with the white paper as they can be.
Where the coloring page edges meet the white paper, add baker’s twine to make the edges look more seamless. Use the baker’s twine (and a few glue dots) to attach crayons to one corner, if desired.
As a kid, I remember my sister being obsessed with LEGO® blocks. She was older- around 6 or 7- when she began collecting them, and she would play with them for hours! I don’t remember being introduced to LEGO® blocks like she was. I always wished that I had been able to develop a love for them, and maybe I would have if I had been introduced earlier. Now that I have kids of my own, I am thrilled to start them out early with the LEGO® DUPLO and LEGO® JUNIORS lines.
LEGO systems offers three distinct age-appropriate superhero product lines for kids to engage with character storylines. No matter if your kiddos are master builders or new to Lego blocks, there is a product for every age and stage. Geared towards children aged 2-5, the LEGO® DUPLO® Super Heroes set is awesome for the triplets!
It has chunky pieces that fit perfectly in their hands.
This building set couldn’t have come at a better time. The boys are constantly pretending that they are Batman or some other superhero, so they are having a blast with the Batman or Superman from this set.
You’ll notice that they are actually playing together nicely, which is a miracle in itself. I love to see them sharing.
My daughter is getting a crash course in superheroes with this LEGO® JUNIORS superhero set.
She has always thought of LEGO systems as only blocks, so she was excited to see police mobile and helicopter with working parts.
This LEGO building set allows her the chance to act out scenes from her favorite stories or to make up new ones of her own!
LEGO® DUPLO® offers an unlimited source of creative play as young children explore the world around them with their growing imagination. Double the size of the iconic LEGO bricks, yet 100% compatible, DUPLO bricks grow alongside your child as they curiously create and discover many ways to play. Age appropriate minifigures allow even the youngest builders to role play.
LEGO® JUNIORS delivers fun, age-appropriate building sets with easy-to-follow building instructions, colorful photos and playful guidance to help to ensure a smooth transition to independent building. Quick start elements and modular bricks, such as walls and archways, facilitate easy builds—giving children out-of-the-box success. Storytelling and creative play is inspired by a variety of iconic themes.

What kid doesn’t love lego? My son started w/ the duplo and now has graduated up to the regular little piece legos. He’s 7. He has an entire Lego City set up. My 4 year daughter is following in his footsetps and has the lego friends all set up in her room too!
This is so smart!
What a great idea! We have a Lego Lover at our house and I can imagine it would be the only wrapping paper he’d ever be careful taking off!
