Last month, my wonderful father-in-law passed away. It has been a difficult time for our family, as it would be for any, but we have found comfort in talking about memories that we shared with him. One thing that my father-in-law LOVED was Race Day. We have a local dirt racing track that he frequented, and we always knew where to find him when it was Race Day on TV! One year, for a Christmas present, my husband and his brother took their father to a race track for one of those racing experiences. It was one of the best memories that they made. If my father-in-law were still here, I would definitely be gifting this I {Heart} Race Day mug to him. If you have a racing fan in your life, this is easy to create and would make a neat gift for Christmas!
Supplies:
- Plain white mug
- Rubbing alcohol on gauze
- Permanent vinyl
- Cutting machine (I’m using my Cricut Explore Air 2)
- Optional: Transfer tape
Wipe the mug with the rubbing alcohol. Let it dry completely.
Using a cutting machine and Design Space software, cut the words and a heart out of permanent vinyl. If you’re using Cricut Design Space, here is my canvas for the cut file.
To apply the vinyl, use transfer tape or hand apply the words and heart to the mug. Press the vinyl on the mug firmly.
Be sure to hand wash the mug only. If giving this as a gift, you may want to attach a small tag with the hand washing only guideline for the gift recipient.
What’s just as fast as race day? Advil® Film-Coated Rapid Release tablets are fast acting! Pick up a bottle in the pharmacy section at Walmart for headaches, muscle aches, toothaches, menstrual cramps, back pain, and aches and pains associated with the common cold. Before you go, grab an Advil® coupon.
Be sure to check out the Ford EcoBoost 400 in Miami on November 20th! We are going to try to watch in honor of my father in law. Advil® Film-Coated Rapid Release tablets are handy to keep in the pantry to alleviate aches and pains so that all of the focus is on the big race!
