Hello, I’m Julie from Sum of their Stories. I love making and sending cards to my family & friends so I’m really pleased to be here as part of Melanie’s lovely Let’s Write a Note Challenge!
Quite often shop bought cards come with a fancy envelope don’t they?
In our house, all the cards we send/give are hand made and we use card blanks in various shapes and sizes that come in packs with envelopes – plain envelopes. This is not right. I am taking time and effort to make a (hopefully) lovely, unique card, why am I happy for it to be sent in a plain boring envelope?
So I have been on a mission to find some fun ways to fancy up and DIY envelopes.
First I made one for my Dad. To have a go you need a plain envelope, a pencil, a stencil, a craft knife and a piece of contrast paper for lining.
Open the flap of the envelope and flip your stencil back to front and upside down. Do the centre letter of your message first then add the rest, put them pretty close together.
Enjoy sending special notes or cards to special people in special envelopes!
Such a cute idea! I love the contrasting paper, and that it really personalizes the envelope too.
