Mosquitoes have been terrible this year! Here’s a cute sign to display by the door to remind those kiddos to PLEASE. SHUT. THE. DOOR. and info on how to keep those pesky skeeters under control with DynaTrap products. This post is sponsored by DynaTrap. I’ve lived in the south all my life, but this summer has been H-O-T. And there’s been no shortage of pesky insects. If I so much as step outside the front door without insect repellent, I acquire two or three new bug bites. I’m also constantly reminding the kids to shut the door. “Ya’ll are letting the bugs in!” has been my most frequently used Southern statement this year.
I put my crafty skills to work to make this funny, yet also true, sign to place on a table that sits by the door. We are also using handy dandy DynaTrap products for the remainder of the summer, so hopefully between those and the sign, my most frequently used Southern phrase can turn to something a little sweeter.
I made the sign with my Cricut machine.
Supplies:
- Cricut machine – Cricut Explore series machine or Cricut Maker. I’m using the Cricut Maker.
- Cricut StandardGrip Cutting Mat
- Cricut Iron-on Vinyl
- Cricut EasyPress 2
- Cricut EasyPress Mat
- Small Canvas – a flat canvas is best. For a canvas without a support in the center, place a ball of butcher paper or parchment paper under the center to support the canvas so that the canvas does not cave in while adhering the iron-on vinyl.
I used THIS SVG and imported the design into my Cricut Design Space. See How to Upload SVG files to Cricut Design Space if you need a refresher on how to do this.
I made sure that the design was sized to fit within my canvas and then cut the design on the iron-on vinyl. Be sure to mirror the image!
Following the settings on the EasyPress Interactive Guide, use the EasyPress 2 to adhere the iron-on vinyl to the canvas.
A few weeks ago, I was selected by Tryazon to host a party to showcase DynaTrap products to family and friends. I received this awesome assortment of products in the mail.
We started our party by having guests check out the packaging and giving feedback via a survey. Then we opened the products and I did a brief demonstration on how to put them together and place them.
I had also been using the DynaTrap FlyLight Insect Trap in the house for about 5 days prior to the party. I was able to show my guests how effective that it was on catching flies and kitchen pests.
Then we opened the Dynazap Bug Zapper. This was another popular item!
Party guests commented of the products:
- “I need the Insect Flylight in my house, especially during the summer months.”
- “I would have liked to see the quality of a stand to go along with the 1/2 acre DynaTrap.”
I left out comment cards for people to jot down their thoughts during the discussion.
After the demonstration, we had a cookout and mingled.
