There are so many ways to make plain composition books look cute! Today, I’m using plain colored paper and Laura Kelly Sizzix Pet Shop dies to create a Cute Animal Composition Book. Thank you to Laura Kelly and Sizzix for sending me the Pet Shop dies as part of the Laura Kelly Design Team! This post may contain affiliate links.
I’ve been having fun creating different composition book variations this back to school season, but these Cute Animal Composition Books are my current favorite! There’s just something about making and customizing back to school items for yourself.
Supplies:
- Small composition book
- Brown kraft paper
- Glue
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Sizzix Pet Shop die
- Sizzix Big Shot
- Card stock
Cover the small composition book with the brown kraft paper. Adhere the paper to the book with your choice of glue. If desired, use the pencil to trace the cover of the composition book to make it easier to cover.
Cut your choice of animal and animal house out of card stock with the Sizzix Pet Shop die and the Sizzix Big Shot.
Glue the “house” to the front of the composition book. In my case, the “house” for my animal is the fish tank since the animal is a house. Be sure not to glue the slits where the animal goes through!
That’s it! So cute and easy, right?
The Sizzix Pet Shop die from Laura Kelly has an assortment of cute animal dies. She makes even snakes and lizards look adorable. Most of these designs will fit on the front of the small composition book, but the dog is a bit too large. You’ll need a large composition book if you want to make this craft with the dog shape.
I’ve made another composition book project- this Fabric Covered Composition Book. It includes a button and hook closure, making it perfect for older kids, too.
Oh my goodness! This is too cute! I wish I had a young one to make these for!
These are super darling!!!
