Are your kids in a breakfast rut? Sometime putting a new spin on an old favorite can renew interest in a breakfast food. Today I’m making Eggo Waffles into an animal the kids will love to devour leg by leg- Crab Eggos. Do you have a fun animal spin on an Eggo Waffle? Be sure to submit your own Eggo recipe!
Ingredients:
3 Cooked Regular Size Eggo Waffles
Strawberry Jam
1 square from a Hershey’s Candy Bar
Recipe:
Take one Eggo waffle and cut it the following way:
1. Cut 2 ‘legs’ that contain 2 squares vertically and 1 horizontally
2. Cut 2 other ‘legs’that contain 4 squares vertically and 2 horizontally
3. Cut the front pinchers- they will be 2 rows of 4 squares
Take another Eggo waffle and cut it the following way:
Cut 2 long ‘legs’ that are 5 squares by 3.5 squares
Lay the legs out in a crab shape according to photo.
Cover the entire shape with strawberry jam.
Cut small pieces from the Hershey Candy Bar to place as eyes.

So cute! This would be wonderful for some picky eaters. Fortunately, mine just inhale their waffles.
WOW, Melanie! I never would have thought to turn waffles into crabs! What a creative eye you have!
I am scared of crabs. They are creepy….but your eggo is pretty cute!! And looking at the photo of how to cut and assemble I realized that you can also make Tetris Eggos!!
I love crabs…My favorite seafood ever! That for sure is artistic, makes the kids to eat more.
Oh how adorable is that! I am pinning this to save!

Made me think of the Atari Martians… Applies for retro breakfast too 😉
