Kids, especially elementary school aged kids, love their teachers. When it comes to teacher appreciation, my kids like to take part in getting together the gift for their teacher. With these Colorable Teacher Appreciation Cards made with the Cricut machine, the kids can color and decorate a card especially for their teacher. This tutorial demonstrates how to create a basic card, but kids can use glitter glue or sequins or other craft supplies to add their own creative flair.
Colorable Teacher Appreciation Card Supplies:
- Glue Dots Craft Dots
- Cricut Machine – I’m using the Cricut Maker, but the Cricut Explore Air 2 series machine will also work for this project.
- Cricut LightGrip Cutting Mat
- Cricut 0.4 tip pen
- Cricut fine point blade
- White card stock
- Red card stock
- Brown card stock
This is a Cricut project that is perfect for beginners in paper crafting, but it does have a few small card stock parts.
To make this project even easier, utilize my already designed project file in Cricut Design Space. Click THIS LINK and log into Cricut Design Space. The project preview will appear. You may choose to either cut it right away or click “Customize” to alter the text or design.
If you decide to customize with a different layered image, check out this post on How to Make Any Image into a Coloring Sheet to see how to transform the image from a layered image to a flat, outline only image. If changing the font, be sure to choose a font that has an open letter design that may be colored.
Send the image to the Cricut machine for cutting. Cricut Design Space will prompt you on all the cutting specifics. Use the white card stock for the colorable page and the other colors for the apple pieces and the background piece.
Set the red card stock to the side. Use the Glue Dots Craft Dots to attach the various card stock elements to the white card stock piece.
Once finished, attach the white card stock piece to the red card stock background using the Glue Dots Craft Dots.
Color, embellish, and write a little personal note to your favorite teacher!
