Keep the kids occupied over winter break with craft activities, like these Clothespin Snowmen. Thank you to CraftProjectIdeas.com for providing the supplies for this craft idea and for providing the items for the craft!
Winter break is approaching quickly. Crafts were always a big part of my two week break from school when I was a kid, and crafting is something that I’ve incorporated with my kids, too. They enjoy getting a little messy with paint and glue, and I like seeing their own spin on whatever craft that we are doing. These Clothespin Snowmen have room for customization, and I’m sure that by the end of winter break we will have our own little group of them!
Clothespins are fun craft supplies. Kids can create them into a variety of characters, and most clothespins can stand on their own, making them neat to play with, too.
Use the supply list and tutorial below to create your own Clothespin Snowman.
Supplies from CraftProjectIdeas.com:
- Black Fuzzy Stick
- Rainbow Poms (for the orange nose)
- Paintbrushes
- Acrylic Paint Pods
- Wooden Clothespins
- Glue
Paint the clothespin white on all sides. Let dry thoroughly.
Glue a small orange pom on the clothespin. Make sure that the wide part of the clothespin (the portion that will allow the snowman to stand) is on the bottom.
Paint black dots for eyes and black dots for buttons.
Tie a black fuzzy stick around the clothespin under the nose. If it is too long, trim the ends of the fuzzy stick.
This craft takes about 30 minutes, and it is appropriate for 4 and up.
