Cinnamon Dough Ornaments with Free Printable Recipe Card

I remember making Cinnamon Dough Ornaments as a kid with my Granny. It was a yearly tradition for all the cousins to spend the night and make these ornaments the next day. I actually still have a few of the ornaments that I made with my Granny, and they still spell as fragrant as the day that I brought them home.

It wasn‘t until I saw these ornaments again on a post at Happy Hour Projects that my mind triggered to make these with my little one. So this past weekend, we made a batch of Cinnamon Dough Ornaments using the Happy Hour Projects recipe (Be sure to visit her blog for step by step pictures and helpful tips for making the ornaments).

We made gingerbread men, Christmas trees, and hearts.

I made this free printable recipe cards with Adrianne’s permission, of course. The recipe is from her, and the printable card is a gift from me! To print, right click and save to computer and print. Or, I uploaded the recipe card to Google Docs, as well (Click HERE for access).

Group Children’s Project Idea: – I may use these in Children’s Church to let the kids’ paint as gifts to their parents. 🙂

I may link to these parties.

Cute! I love edible ornaments. I usually make little gingerbread boys that hang on the tree. What a fun surprise for kids.

Since I hav not made these, and I’d really like to for a large group of kids (300 approx.) how much cinnamon and applesauce do I need? Do you have a recipe that is scented gingerbread (like the one above) but that is faster drying? You’re projects are fantastic!

Hi! The recipe above makes between 12-16, depending on how large the cookie cutters are. The above recipe (when baking in the oven) is the quickest way. The cookies would be ready to take home after baking. Thanks for stopping by!
