Cheesy Bread Recipe with Baked Ziti

Family dinner is one of our favorite times of the day. Now that the weather has cooled considerably, I’m cranking up the oven more than I do in the summer. Instead of sandwiches and pasta salad, we’re enjoying warm meals that are hearty and fill the house with delicious smells. My kids love pasta, and we have a bit more of it during the cooler months. Pasta is also one of my go-to meals for taking a meal to a friend who may need a hot meal or an easy meal when we are entertaining a crowd. The combo of pasta sauce and noodles are always a crowd pleaser, whether it is immediate family or extended friends! Paired with my easy Cheesy Bread Recipe, Michael Angelo’s premium frozen Family Size Baked Ziti with Meatballs from Walmart allows me to have dinner on the table in record time so that I can spend more time conversing about important things, like what happened with the kids and their during recess.

Pasta dishes are classic family dinner meals, but they can take extra time to make from scratch. This is especially true for dishes like Baked Ziti that require cooking the pasta and then oven time. Michael Angelo’s frozen meals, found in the freezer meals aisle at Walmart (get cash back with Ibotta here), cut that prep time while still maintaining authentic Italian-style recipes that are full of flavor. Michael Angelo’s frozen meals have no artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners, leaving room for homemade tastes inspired by Italian traditions.

Pasta pairs well with bread or salad, but it especially goes great with this Cheesy Bread recipe!

Ingredients:

  • (1/4) cup unsalted butter
  • (6) ounces Italian blend shredded cheese
  • (1/4) teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pink Himalayan sea salt
  • Thinly sliced Parisian bread pieces (between a fourth and a half of an inch)

I found already sliced bread in the store. I like this specific bread because it is thinly sliced and doesn’t get too tough when broiled. My kids like softer cheesy bread.

Soften the butter, but not to the point of being melted.

Add the garlic powder to the butter. Add a few turns of the Pink Himalayan sea salt to the butter, as well. Combine the mixture to make a spread.

Place the bread slices on an aluminum covered pan.

Spread the mixture on each bread piece.

Continue until all pieces are covered.

Place the pan in the oven on broil. Broil until the cheese is melted and slightly golden brown on edges. Keep a close eye while it is cooking, as the cheese tends to go from non-melted to melted very quickly!

Pair with your favorite pasta meal, like this Michael Angelo’s Family Size Baked Ziti with Meatballs.

We actually used to have a group of young people that rode in the back of the church van. They would snack on cheesy bread on the way home. They still talk about it to this day and they are all adults now. Cheesy bread for the win!
