I have developed a love for Bible Jouraling! It is a wonderful way for me to clear my mind and be creative yet with a heavenly focus. I’m happy to be partnering with Dayspring and Illustrated Faith to showcase their Blessings or Lessons Devotional Kit.
If you had asked me a year ago about Bible Journaling, I would have droned on about how intimidated that I was about being artistic in my Bible. I would see so many lovely Bible Journaling entries from others on Facebook and Instagram, and I honestly had no idea where to begin. One day, after receiving my first journaling Bible, God laid it on my heart to just jump in with both feet. I never would have imagined what a blessing that it would be to me. My first Bible Journaling entry was a basic as it gets. I started, armed with a circle stencil and a set of kids’ colored pencils. Fast forward a year later, I’ve helped host a Bible Journaling workshop and I’m dabbling in watercolors. God keeps surprising me!
Whenever I talk to other ladies about Bible Journaling, I receive the same response that I had a year ago: one of intimidation.
“I’m not artsy!”
“I don’t know how to draw or paint!”
“I don’t know what to journal!”
To all intimidated to begin, let me say this: Don’t miss out on the joy of creative alone time with God! If you never want to crack open your journal entries to show a soul, that is perfectly fine. Leave them between you and God. Grab your kids’ colored pencils, ponder your favorite verse, and jump in with what God lays on your heart.
I can say this with confidence because I have learned far more than I would have imagined through Bible Journaling.
God taught me that I had been interpreting a Bible verse incorrectly my entire life, which had led to confusion and discouragement.
I learned to give God my talents and let HIM develop them.
I prioritized devotional time.
I memorized more scripture.
All of these things came from giving HIM the time and creatively expressing what was on my heart.
But, speaking from a place of experience, I can relate to those who desperately desire to give Bible Journaling a try but are intimidated. If this sounds like you, I have something wonderful for you today. The lovely Shanna from Illustrated Faith and DaySpring have partnered together to develop the Illustrated Faith Devotional Kit. With a different theme each month, the kit comes with a devotional booklet and journaling items. The devotional helps direct your quiet time with God, and the kit items allow you to creatively express what God speaks to you through the kit.
Today I’m trying out the Blessings or Lessons Devotional Kit. The kit contains a devotional booklet, a stamp pad, a sheet of stamp cut-outs, a roll of washi tape, a package of 3 Scripture sharables, a sticker, and a bow clip.
My favorite pieces are these colorful stamp cut-outs.
The devotionals made me specifically consider friends in my life, which of course led me to journaling a well known verse over in Proverbs.
The devotionals are thought provoking, and all of the kit items are great quality. The washi tape, shown below, is awesome! “He is my bestie!”
The sharable cards are helping me with my resolve to encourage others. I like that the kit combines learning, creativity, and sharing our faith all in one box!
The Illustrated Faith Devotional Kits are innovative, creative-provoking, and inspiring. Check them out HERE for yourself!

What an awesome idea!
I think Bible journaling is a great way to help commit key verses to memory and to highlight those passages that really speak to you. The only caution for me is to always put priority on God’s Word and not on the art that I create.
I’ve never tried it but I’ve seen other on Facebook doing it and it looks fun. I need all the scripture help I can get.
