Bath Time Baby Gift Basket

This Bath Time Baby Gift Basket and shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #GiftingForBaby #CollectiveBias

Between a large family and my husband’s career as a minister, we are fortunate to know lots of new, wiggly, sweet babies. In the past, I have done just about everything that you can think of for baby shower or new baby gifts. I’ve given gift cards. I’ve labored on handmade quilts or hats. I’ve carefully hand selected items from a couple’s baby registry. I’ve even re-gifted an adorable brand new outfit that my kids were never able to wear (shh…don’t tell anyone about that one).

It wasn’t until I had the triplets that I truly realized what moms can really use for a new baby. With my first daughter, I was all about the cutesy, and sometimes useless, items. With my triplets, practicality and necessity were key. I appreciated the diaper stash and the extra wash cloths more than I realized that I would. Since then, I tend to lean towards gifting practical items when selecting gifts for a new baby.

However, practical doesn’t mean that it can’t be cute. Companies are jumping on trends and producing items that are useful but still look adorable in a nursery or on the bathroom shelf. Even classics, like Johnson’s Baby Lotion, come in cute packaging now!

Hover over the photo below to check out and purchase the products from Target!

A bath time baby gift basket is cute and useful. New parents need bathing supplies, and with the addition of a few items, this gift can be something that parents use for months to come. Here are a few tips to make the most out of a bath time gift basket.

Tip #1

Purchase the basket in store with the other products so that you can try fitting the items in the basket. I always have trouble “eye-balling” what size basket that I need. I either purchase on too large or too small. By grabbing the basket and items in one shopping trip, I make sure that I have just the size that I need.

Tip #2

Purchase a canvas basket that the new parents can use for storage. If you are unsure of the nursery or bathroom colors, choose a neutral color that goes with everything.

Tip #3

“Soft” materials like was cloths and towels are great padding. Skip the basket filler and grab these useful items instead. Place the was cloths in the bottom of the basket as cushioning for the other items.

Tip #4

If you can’t resist the urge to pick up a cute item, a bath robe makes a super cute addition to the gift basket. Again, by purchasing all of the items in the same shopping trip in the same store, the gift basket items can be coordinated.

Tip #5

Add the other items in the gift basket to create different visual layers.

I’m not a fan of babies, I’m never having babies, I don’t know anything about babies, though I seem to be surrounded by new babies all the time and I never know what to buy for them. It’s not a topic that has ever interested me, so I’m happy to have this cheat sheet for when new ones (inevitably) arrive in my circle.

Agh! Johnson & Johnson has come a long way since I had wee ones. I LOVE the decorative containers…they are AWESOME.

Also, this gift basket is adorable. The details are outstanding. I’m a fan of the colors they are bold, yet child-like. Such a great gift with so many must-haves. Well done!

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to check in with my son and remind him I’m still without a grandchild!

This is a super cute baby basket gift idea. Heck I would enjoy receiving this because I love their products. All of the baby stuff is so soft and smells so good! I think is this is great to give to someone who has everything because you can always use some pampering no matter if you wear pampers or not (haha see what I did there?) This is super cute, I love your selections!

Your timing is impeccable! I’ve been invited to a baby shower in a couple of weeks and have been wondering what the perfect gift would be. The idea of a gift basket is perfect. It’s been so long since my kids were little, that I feel a bit lost. x

Awesome tips! I love babies and baby showers…although most of the time I only come by as a photographer, the photos are my gift to them couple along with a dress or body. 🙂 If a time comes that I ould be invited not as a photographer I would definitely have this gift set.
