Apple Pie Smoothie with #BreakfastEssentials

This Apple Pie Smoothie shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Nestle, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia  #BreakfastEssentials http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

The first dessert that I ever made for my husband was an big ‘ole apple pie. One of those with the slitted crust on top and the sprinkled cinnamon topping. I’ve been making apple pies for him for over ten years now. Our favorite thing to do has also been to save a few slices for breakfast the next morning. This isn’t the healthiest breakfast option, but, boy, it sure is delicious. The wheels in my head starting turning a few weeks ago, and I thought, why can’t I make an Apple Pie Smoothie for breakfast? Something with nutrients and a healthy twist? I pondered on it until this Apple Pie Smoothie recipe was born!

I purposely made this recipe with the simplest ingredients possible. I’m sure some ultra frugal mamas out there can devise a recipe that is less expensive per serving, but this one is the easiest by far. Print off this coupon to get $1.00 off the Carnation Breakfast Essentials powder included in the recipe at Walmart. Using pre-made ingredients, even older kids and teens can make this breakfast smoothie for themselves.

Begin with 1 cup milk, 1/2 can of apple pie filling, 1 packet of French Vanilla Carnation Breakfast Essentials powder, and a dash of cinnamon.

Add all ingredients to a blender.

Blend until all ingredients are combined.

I use pre-made ingredients for this recipe to make it as mindless as possible. The apple pie filling includes the soft apples and spices. The Carnation Breakfast Essentials contains 21 vitamins and minerals, 13g of Protein, and as much calcium as a 6 oz. cup of yogurt. Carnation Breakfast Essentials are available in a variety of flavors that can be turned into other delicious smoothie recipes. Their Facebook page also contains the latest on their product line.

Enjoy this Apple Pie Smoothie for a quick breakfast! I had five taste testers- a kid, a teenager, a twenty-something, and an adult. This recipe received five stars from all of them!
